WHO WE ARE
Philip & Allison Le Dune live and work in the North East of England and visited Burkina Faso for the first time in February 2008 as part of a fact-finding trip. The incredible need of the people in that country was as obvious as it was immense. On their return they set up the Charity “Aid to Burkina” and since then have been involved in resourcing projects within Education, the Church, Health Care and Business sponsorship through microeconomic enterprise, centred around the city of Bobo-Dioulasso in south west Burkina Faso.
The trustees of the charity include a Vicar with a background in Social work, a Lecturer in Learning Disabilities and the owner of a Fostering and Adoption agency, ensuring an accountable and informed oversight in the decision making process.
WHAT WE DO
Make a difference
As followers of Jesus there is a strong faith-based emphasis to all the projects that we and the charity are involved in, but importantly, giving equal access and opportunity to all regardless of religious affiliation. The trustees all work in the Health and Social Care sector in the UK and so there is an understanding of the vital role that Health and Education play in people of any community in reaching their God-given potential in life, and through Aid to Burkina hope to make this an increasing reality for the people of Burkina Faso.
We aim to set up self-sustaining projects that require minimal external input, helping people to become independent rather than making them wait for hand-outs.
We are not a large charity - but want to make a big difference.
