In May 2019 terrorists coming down from Niger in the North displaced at least 1 million people from their homes in Burkina Faso and Mali.

The refugees tried to find somewhere safe to live just to the north of the capital Ouagadougou. Some were able to stay with relatives, but for many they had to rely on the kindness of complete strangers to give them food and a roof over their head.

Aid to Burkina were contacted in the hope that we might be able to send some financial help. Thanks to the generosity of our donors we were able to send over £8000 to help buy rice and maize to help feed the displaced people.
